CPT Robert (Rob) Brownlee is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He commissioned in 2016 through the Reserve Officers Training Program (ROTC) at The Ohio State University as an Infantry Officer after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Following completion of training at Fort Benning, GA, he was assigned to 1-67 AR, 3ABCT, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, TX from 2018-2021. While there, he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader while on rotation to Camp Humphries, Korea, and subsequently served as a Company Executive Officer after the unit returned. His final assignment was serving as an Aide-de-Camp at the 1st Armored Division Headquarters.
After completing the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course at Fort Benning, GA, he was reassigned to the 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii and was assigned as an Assistant Operations Officer in 1-27 IN “Wolfhounds.” He then held command in Able Company (Light Infantry), 1-27 IN for 13 months, where he and the Company participated in two Bilateral, Joint Exercises in the Philippines and served as the OPFOR for 3rd Brigade’s VALEX prior to their JMPRC Rotation. He also successfully oversaw multiple Team, Squad, and Platoon Live Fire Exercises.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, the Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
CPT Brownlee is married to his wife, Lauren Ponko Brownlee, who is an Active Duty Physician Associate at Brooke Army Medical Center.
