CPT Macedo, XO/Assistant Professor of Military Science

Captain Jose L. Macedo is a native of Moreno Valley, CA. He began his military career by enlisting in the US Army on July 1, 1999 and served from the ranks of PVT to SFC in the Ordnance Corps before being awarded an Army Green-to- Gold scholarship in 2008. His enlisted assignments include Maintenance Team Chief, D co 204FSB, 2BCT, 4ID Fort Hood Texas. Battalion Motor Sergeant, 40th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1 st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I for 15 months (Apr 03-July 04), and OIF III for 12 months (Nov 05- Nov 06). Maintenance Platoon Sergeant/ Section Sergeant 699th Maintenance Company, Corps Support Battalion, Fort Irwin, CA.

CPT Macedo received his commission into the Ordnance Corps from the University of California State University – San Bernardino in June 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. CPT Macedo commenced Graduate school in the fall of 2012 and concluded in the summer of 2015, when CPT Macedo received his Master’s degree in Business Management and Leadership from Webster University.

CPT Macedo has served in multiple staff and leadership positions throughout his officer career which include: Maintenance Platoon Leader, Battalion Maintenance Control Officer, Company Executive Officer Delta Forward Support Company, 1st Squadron, 1st Calvary Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division Fort Bliss Texas. Battalion Operations Officer for the 6th Ordnance Battalion, Camp Carroll, Korea. Served as part of the I Corps G4 staff as a G4 Operations Officer assigned to the Combined Operations Integration Cell reporting daily Logistics to the I CORPS CG; simultaneously synchronizing Logistics operations throughout the Pacific AOR. His most recent assignment was Company Commander of the Forward Support Company, for 1-229th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, JBLM, WA.

His military education includes: Primary Leadership Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course, Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course.
CPT Macedo’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (8 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (8 OLC), Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal (with Bronze Clasps, 2 Loops), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2nd award), Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd award), Combat Action Badge (CAB), Mechanic Badge (MEB), and the Ordnance Corps Order of Samuel Sharpe.
